Backgammon Cash's random number generator (RNG) algorithm has been certified by the World Backgammon Federation (WBGF), the international governing body for competitive backgammon.

Independent Certification

The WBGF engineering team has independently reviewed all code that affects dice rolls in the Backgammon Cash application and verified that the algorithm produces mathematically random numbers on 100% of dice rolls. Each roll generates two independent random numbers between 1 and 6, with no external factors able to influence the outcome.

Your dice rolls are not affected by your account balance, board position, win/loss record, player status, or any other variables. The system meets the randomness standards established for international backgammon competition.

Verify Your Dice Rolls

In addition to WBGF's independent certification, you can review your complete dice roll history and distribution statistics on the Profile page in the app. Over time, the percentages normalize to 16.67% for each number - mathematical proof of true randomness.

Random Does Not Always Mean "Fair"

It's important to be aware that although the dice are completely random, that does not mean that each player will have a fair share of "good" dice rolls in every game. The element of chance that makes backgammon unique and unpredictable means that at any moment, an improbable dice roll can significantly impact the outcome of the game. However, if you are a skilled player who consistently makes moves that put your checkers in better positions to win, then over time your skill will prevail over your opponents. This is especially true with the doubling cube; knowing when to pass or take a double will limit your losses and maximize your winnings.

Our Commitment to the Integrity of Online Backgammon

The integrity of backgammon drives every decision we make at Backgammon Cash. Players deserve to know that their games are legitimate tests of skill, and that there are no outside factors affecting the game. That is why we've obtained 3rd party independent certification on our dice rolls, built out a robust system for monitoring cheating activity, and plan to continue building new features to promote transparency and fairness in all matches.

Backgammon Cash is also required by law, our banking providers, payment providers, and Apple App Store to provide a backgammon game that is free of any tampering or unfair play. Any violation of this fair play environment would expose Backgammon Cash to significant legal liability and risk the complete shutdown of the app.

Real Transparency

Our team is happy to meet with any players who wish to review the random dice code for themselves. Please reach out to our team at team@backgammon-cash.com to schedule a time to review the code with one of our engineers.
