Rules of Backgammon Cash
Here is where you'll find the complete backgammon rules guide for Backgammon Cash. This page covers everything you need to know about our game mechanics. Our backgammon game follows traditional gameplay rules, with a few important modifications designed to ensure fair play and security in our real-money gaming environment. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with these guidelines to optimize your gameplay and strategy. Let’s dive in below!
Gammons and Backgammons
- In a Points match, winning (or losing) by Gammon is worth 2 points, and Backgammon is worth 3 points. The doubling cube will act as a multiplier on points earned.
- In Cash games, a win or loss by Backgammon does not award additional money beyond the wagered amount, but it will affect the ranking points received.

Maximum Wager for Doubling
- The doubling cube can only increase the stakes up to what both players can afford (In a cash game). We use the player with the smaller account balance to set this limit. In a game with $5 entry fee, if Player 1 has $10 and Player 2 has $7, then the maximum that can be won via a double is $2.
- The limit will be clearly visible on the gameplay screen.
The Crawford Rule
- In a Points match, if one player is a point away from winning the match, then neither player is allowed to utilize the Doubling cube. This prevents the player with less points from having an unfair advantage, since they have nothing additional to lose.
Maintaining an Active Internet Connection
- You must stay connected to the internet throughout your entire match. If your connection drops:
-
Your timer keeps running - Move time and time bank continue counting down
-
No game pause - The match continues even while you're disconnected
-
Auto-reconnect - The game will try to reconnect you automatically
-
Time runs out = you lose - If your time expires while disconnected, you forfeit the match
